Warning! This is going to be a partially biased rant. And I have been saying it for months. I believe the NFL is Rigged! Yeppers, rigged! Not scripted, necessarily, but something is fishy. After last Sunday nights playoff game of Bills vs Chiefs, I am 100% convinced!
Yes, I am a Bills fan! I grew up in the suburbs of Buffalo. I started watching them in the late 80’s. My parents weren’t really football fans and I don’t recall ever watching a Superbowl during my childhood. And yes, I suffered with the four straight Superbowl losses and wide right-that phrase cuts like a knife So obviously having 5 of my 6 kids being huge Bills fans, its gets crazy on game days(Adam is a Packers fan). Not breaking TVs or holes in the walls but objects are flying along with cheers and obscenities of course. And we do play fantasy football which makes it more interesting because you have skin in the game with whatever players you draft. But no more.
So back to the game. Yes, I am blaming the coaching. Horrible plays. You can’t keep Elam in when he can’t perform on defense, but they did. The tush push didn’t work-so stop trying. Screen plays…keeping James Cook on the sideline and not utilizing him to the max when he was the one getting the yards. And Josh, he seemed under utilized. I know, we expect Superman to show up every game and now that we found out he hurt his throwing hand prior to halftime so ok, understandable. So the Bills had their own issues to tackle but having to battle the refs as well as the Chiefs?!
There were at least 4 times that the ball was spotted incorrectly. Blatant, I mean BLANTANT wrong spot. The first two I didn’t realize until I saw a compilation of bad calls. James Cook in the first quarter. Clearly over the line. The refs brought it back to be 2nd and 1.(2nd down, 1 yard to go for non football watchers)

This seems to be the first one. Shortly after, Amari Cooper seems to get the first down. Again, spotted short so 2nd and 1. Dalton Kincaid later in the game same, over the line but spotted short. This went to the Josh Allen push that one ref called it a 1st down and other said he didn’t get it. So of course, they rule it as short. Well, in the video replay it appears to me and many others that he got the first down. Here’s a few more of clear infractions:

And the big one! The one they called a KC catch was not a catch because the ball hits the ground. It would have went Bills way. Should have….but again, refs $. You can argue that we, the Bills Mafia, are babies crying over the loss but these are just one after another of missed, bad calls. These are professional refs whose job it is to get the call right. I understand human error but most of the plays are reviewed. Crazy how they can’t get it right…unless that’s how it’s supposed to go. Make little calls here and there to steer the game. This game though, clearly not a little going unnoticed. And don’t think we didn’t notice the flag call on the last Bills drive that suddenly disappeared. Why? It was a “just in case” flag so the refs could again steer the game.

This is the Superbowl America wanted.
This is the Superbowl the NFL wanted.

I clearly have to view the NFL as entertainment and not serious sporting events. The NFL wants KC in the Bowl for the ratings. The Swifties(Taylor Swifts fans-she is dating KC’s Tightend Travis Kelce) bringing in the extra viewing dollars as well as “they” want a 3 peat for KC. They have lost myself as well as thousands, I’d like to say millions(we’ll find out the ratings on Monday), but thousands of viewers and fans. I am not watching. I would rather do my taxes or scoop kitty litter than give them my screen time. Knowing the NFL is like WWE, well it’s disheartening. Shame on Commissioner Goodell and Vegas. But hey, its business. The all mighty dollar better be worth it because some of your loyal fans are no longer interested. Like the NBA, I am so close to banning the NFL in my house. But I love my Bills. And congratulations to Josh Allen for his MVP award!
So yes, is the NFL rigged? Bet your ass! Am I a conspiracy theorist? Probably. Seems to me though that when I dive down in these rabbitholes, the conspiracy is a clear reality. Oh and shout out to the Grammys, too. Buying, I mean, giving BeyoncĂ© the Grammy for best country album….really? Another rig in the world of entertainment. The world is going to hell in a handbag.
